Who we are
Turtle Treasures by Naomi (“we,” “us,” or “the business”) is a small, family-run, kid-founded business operated by Naomi's family in Florida, USA. It is not a charity or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. By using this website or buying from us, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Our handmade earrings (allergy & safety)
Each pair of earrings is handmade, so small differences in size, shape, and finish are normal and expected. Our earrings are made of brass and, like any metal jewelry, may cause irritation or an allergic reaction for people with metal sensitivities. If you have sensitive skin or known metal allergies, please test carefully before wearing them for an extended time, and stop wearing them if any irritation occurs. Jewelry is not a toy: keep small items away from infants, young children, and pets. You are responsible for deciding whether a product is right for you, and you wear and use our products at your own risk.
Digital products (ebooks, coloring & field guides)
Digital products are delivered as downloads for your personal, non-commercial use. They are licensed to you, not sold, and remain our intellectual property. Please do not copy, share publicly, resell, or redistribute them. Because they are delivered instantly, they cannot be returned.
Prices, payment & tax
Prices are in US dollars and may change at any time. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Any shipping and applicable sales tax are shown at checkout before you pay. If a price or product detail is ever shown in error, we may correct it and cancel any affected order.
Shipping & risk of loss
We ship to the United States and Canada. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and once a package is handed to the carrier, delivery is in their hands. Risk of loss passes to you when we give the package to the carrier. Please enter your address carefully; we are not responsible for packages delayed or lost due to an incorrect or incomplete address.
Intellectual property
All content on this site, including text, photos, videos, artwork, book content, the “Tiko the Turtle” character, and logos, belongs to Naomi's family and is protected by copyright and other laws. Please do not copy, reuse, or resell it without our written permission. If you send us a message, photo, or review, you grant us permission to use it to operate and promote the business.
The “Ask Tiko” chat helper
Our chat helper provides general, automated information only. It can make mistakes, and its answers are not promises or binding offers. For anything that matters (an order, a price, a policy), the official sources are this page, the product pages, and contacting us directly.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the website and products are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product or the site is limited to the amount you paid us for the product or service giving rise to the claim. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you. Nothing here removes rights that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. We may update these terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above shows when. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
Returns & Refunds
Because every earring is handmade to order and digital products are delivered instantly, all sales are final and we do not offer returns or general refunds. We stand behind our work: if your order arrives damaged or defective, or you received the wrong item, contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and your order details, and we will make it right with a replacement or another fair solution. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
Sea Turtle Hero Club (Subscriptions)
The Sea Turtle Hero Club is a recurring subscription that renews automatically. When you join, you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method automatically at the start of each billing period (monthly or yearly, as you choose) at the price shown when you sign up, until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime through your billing/account portal or by emailing us at naomihaynam@gmail.com. Cancelling stops future charges and takes effect at the end of your current paid period; you keep access and benefits through that period. Billing periods that have already been charged, and items already made or shipped, are not refundable. If we ever change the subscription price, we will let you know before the new price applies, and you can cancel if you do not want to continue.
Conservation Support Disclosure
Turtle Treasures by Naomi is a family-run, kid-founded business, not a charity. Buying from us helps support Naomi's sea turtle mission: symbolic adoptions, sponsored nests, support for rescue and rehabilitation, conservation education, and awareness. We do not claim that any single purchase “saves” a specific sea turtle, and we do not donate a fixed percentage of sales. How and where we support conservation can grow and change over time. Purchases and any optional “support the mission” amounts are not charitable, tax-deductible donations.
Privacy Policy
Information we collect
Information you give us: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and any message you send. When you check out, payment is handled by Stripe; we receive your contact, shipping, and order details, but not your full card number.
Information collected automatically: when you use the site, we and our analytics provider collect usage data such as the pages you view, time on page, clicks, scroll depth, approximate location (from your IP address), device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We also use product analytics that can record anonymized session replays to understand how the site is used. Text you type (such as your email or address) is masked and is not visible in those recordings.
How we use information
To process, ship, and support your orders; to run subscriptions; to send updates and newsletters you opt into (you can unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email or by contacting us); to improve the website; and to keep the site safe and working.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the business: Stripe (payments), our email providers for order and account emails, PostHog (website analytics), Vercel (hosting), and our data storage provider. They process information on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for your shopping cart, secure admin login, and analytics. You can control or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking some may affect how parts of the site work.
Children's privacy
Although our founder is a child and our brand is family-friendly, the store is operated by adults and is intended for purchases by adults (18 and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices & rights
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time, and you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing naomihaynam@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example, California, or the EU and UK), you may have additional privacy rights; we honor valid requests. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention & security
We keep information for as long as needed to run the business and meet legal, accounting, and tax requirements, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, rate limiting, and a secure, passwordless admin login. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
